The Difference Between Alzheimer's and Dementia

Dr. Allan Levey, professor and chair of the Department of Neurology at Emory University’s School of Medicine, as well as the director of Emory’s Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, explains the difference between Alzheimer’s and dementia, which are very different medical conditions.

Dr. Levey shared his perspective with Emory undergraduates in Prof. Michelle Lampl’s class “Introduction to Predictive Health and Society” (April 23, 2013). Prof. Lampl is director of the Emory Center for the Study of Human Health, which brings together the resources of a major research university to advance knowledge and undergraduate education in the area of human health.
